I'm a city girl and at this stage of life I am really content to live in a heaving city, but at the same time I feel at peace, calm and relaxed on the coast or out in the middle of nowhere in the countryside.

For me, the waves crashing to the sand at regular intervals calms me. It reminds me that day in day out, year in year out the waves will keep coming. It's grounding, and comforting. I am spending a lot of time on the beach in Poland at the moment due to my research commitments, and have had some of my best 'thinks' and 'me time' just sat there, watching the waves.

Thank you. For being you. For your honesty, and for your photos.Alicenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768701363853519690.post-20688043788548481232011-05-21T04:56:13.140-05:002011-05-21T04:56:13.140-05:00My happy place is also at the beach - Angourie, NS...My happy place is also at the beach - Angourie, NSW, Australia. It's this tiny little town (very close to Yamba which is more well known) that is surrounding by spectacular beaches and a national park. You can go for a walk and find that you are the only person on the kilometers of beach. It's amazing!Carahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15373194279011455851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768701363853519690.post-57109852464184400132011-05-20T17:03:11.349-05:002011-05-20T17:03:11.349-05:00thanks Kat :) if you ever make it over to NZ i can...thanks Kat :) if you ever make it over to NZ i can show you my beach :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06147470588465110166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768701363853519690.post-54082669422830278542011-05-20T10:21:46.055-05:002011-05-20T10:21:46.055-05:00I love this. I think finding a place that you feel...I love this. I think finding a place that you feel safe and secure is incredibly important... and I fully understand the need to move away from the past, from reminders. I think doing so takes away some of the risk associated with those spaces.

I'm glad you found a place that can help you to build your future.Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02640246267400604836noreply@blogger.com
