I wasn't aware this was common to people who struggle with addictions, so thankyou for sharing this! I have severe anxiety aswell as ED so it does feel like many years have just disappeared/been wasted in many ways...

Lastly, I really loved this ~ 'human doing instead of human being' This is exactly what if feels like at times! :o) Sorry for such a long comment, but thankyou...Your post has been very helpful :o)Chantellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14969596274482669712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768701363853519690.post-2143207209241084262012-01-24T05:59:42.793-06:002012-01-24T05:59:42.793-06:00Yes! I actually blogged about that (when I wrote for this blog) -- it's this whole belief that there's a "typical" eating disorder patient -- http://recoveringinspirings.blogspot.com/2011/08/why-i-hate-word-typical.html -- all forms of awareness pretty much tell us that eating disorder patients are normal weight or emaciated... mainly skeletal though... and that we all think we're massive.

Nicole over at nicoleandgwendolyn also blogged about this recently -- with regards to Dr. Phil and sending him a letter -- http://nicoleandgwendolyn.com/2012/01/22/skeletons-arent-the-only-ones-who-suffer/Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02640246267400604836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768701363853519690.post-65757568859192891732012-01-23T21:50:34.904-06:002012-01-23T21:50:34.904-06:00I think that our society's acceptance of being...I think that our society's acceptance of being extremely thin doesn't help matters either. Women who are underweight and sick look "just fine" when compared to a woman on a magazine cover. You are so right the comparison game has to stop in order to be healthy. I am so working on that right now!

-EmilyEmilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06140656536484404635noreply@blogger.com
